II Armour is Defensive, weapons are Offensive. Armour is designed to exclusively protect you. Weapons are to attack the enemy. You can not cut anyone with a 'Breastplate', nor stab some one with a 'Shield'. A Breastplate is designed to protect and secure your vital organs--heart, lungs, etc., from attack. While a SWORD on the other hand is designed to attack your enemy.
