Lesson No. 4 - The Art of War:  The True Weapons of the Body of Christ

In the Spiritual Warfare we're engaged in we have both offensive as well as defensive equipment--we have to use them both!

It's vital for us as Believers to remember one thing. God is on OUR side, not Satan's. Therefore God isn't going to give Satan weapons, and then just give us the armour. In fact, the only thing the Lord gave Satan is a good ole' fashioned behind whippin'. (Col. 2:15, I Peter 3:22, Rev.12:7-9, Isa.51:9, Heb. 2:14, Acts 10:38.) The Word teaches us that the Lord is not giving Satan weapons to use against us. Isa. 54:15-17. Unfortunately it appears Satan fashions his own against us by what we reveal to him about our weaknesses and our fears and by our own words! And finally by our lack of knowledge of God's Word (the Laws of His Kingdom). Hosea 4:6,Proverbs 6:2, Prov.18:21,20. Matt.12:34-37.

Weapons :

The Word--This Weapon is Phenomenal! It is described by God as three different power filled elements in One. This is the first weapon mentioned that we as Christians have to fight with.

1A) Sword: As a Sword we use it to stab, cut or hack to pieces the condition, situation, test, or demonically inspired trial that comes at us or that we are faced with.

2A) Hammer: As a Hammer we use His Word to slam, smash and crush what ever rises up against us, relentlessly. Jer.23:29

3A) Fire: As Fire, we use the Lord's Word to burn up and destroy Satan's traps, snares, and ambushes along the way of life. The same way that the Marines in the World War II in the pacific theatre used flame throwers in their jungle warfare on the various islands. Jer. 23:29, Jer. 20:9, Jer.5:14. Ezekiel 28:18.

4) The Name--in my opinion is like a Battle Axe. It is an extremely powerful weapon. It is the "second" most powerful weapon that we have in the Body of Christ. (Second most?????) Phil.2:10. Song of Sol.1:3 (ointment is symbolic of the anointing of God, Isa.10:27.) Do you know what the most powerful weapon is? The MOST powerful weapon in the Body is…No, I'm not going to make it that easy for you! (After all this is a Bible Study you know!) Turn to Psalm 138:2 and read it there for yourself. (Smile).  If I had not read it in the Bible for myself, I would have had a hard time believing it too! But He said it and it is right there.. It is AWESOME!

5) The Blood--Atomic Bomb (Explosive) Redeemed and Forgiven by His Blood and Eph.1:7,

Faith in His Blood, our Propitiation: Rom.3:25

Justified by Faith in His Blood: Rom.5:9

We are not separate or distant but near to Him, by His Blood: Eph.2:13

God's not mad at Us as Believers. We have peace with Him through His Blood: Col.1:20

The Blood of Jesus Cleanses our Consciences from dead works, (sin):Heb.9:14

We are joined in Covenant to God by This Blood: Heb.9:20

Our sins have been remitted by the Blood of Jesus: Heb.9:22

Our very prayers enter in before God in the Heavenly Tabernacle by the Blood of Jesus, and we can enter His Holiest of Holies there in Confidence by His Blood: Heb.10:19

We are sanctified by the Blood of Jesus, and God does not consider it a light thing: Heb.10:29, Heb. 13:12

The Blood Speaks on our Behalf: Heb. 12:18-24

God perfects us to the works He has for us to accomplish through the Blood of Jesus: Heb.13:20 & 21.

The Word says that we are sprinkled by the Blood of Jesus: 1Peter 1:2

We were redeemed, ransomed, by the Blood of Jesus: 1Peter 1:19

The Blood of Jesus continually cleanses us from sin as we confess it and as we have need: I John 1:7

The Lord Jesus has washed us from our sins in His own Blood and made us Kings and Priests before God, our Father: Rev.1:5,6,Rev. 5:9 & 10

The robes of the Righteous are made white by the Blood of the Lamb: Rev. 7:14

We overcome Satan by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our Testimony: Rev. 12:11

The Lord will return clothed in a vesture (robe) dipped in His own Blood: Rev. 19:13

The Cup of the Covenant (Communion) Represents His Blood and Reminds us of His Death and Resurrection and our Covenant with Him:  1 Cor.11:25, Heb. 13:20-21.

6) Spear: Prayer--We use this weapon to skewer the enemy. Psalm. 35:1, Joshua 8:18,19. Eph.6:18.

7) Speaking the Pheoma Word--Bow And Arrows, Calling those things which be not as tho they were. We speak the Word of God directly at the enemy. (Luke 4:8), just like Jesus did. Jesus never prayed to God the Father asking Him to rebuke the devil. He did it. And it is not prayer when we issue a command based on the Word. It is a command. 2 Kings 13:15-19. Romans 4:17.

Prayer is always directed to God, commands, based on God's Word are always directed against the enemy. Job 22:28,Matt. 18:18, Mark 11:23, Isa. 44:25,26, Joshua 10:12,13, Acts 16:16-18, Mark 16:17,18,20.

8) Chemical Weapons: Praise and worship is like a gas attack (the chemical weapons kind, not indigestion). It paralyzes Satan and his chronies, if your praise and worship is from the heart and sincere. Not: "Hmm, let me try this and see if it works." You're going to be there in that situation for a longgg time if you just 'try it'.

No, you do it because it works, and it works because God, your heavenly Father said it would--period. It "stills" Satan. It forces him to cease operations against you in that particular area you're facing at that moment. In fact the literal translation of the Hebrew word for 'still' means to "cause to keep Sabbath". What does that mean? Well, let's take a look at what the Sabbath entailed.

It was a 24-hour period in which all work ceased. So, how would you like to lift your hands and praise and worship The Lord Jesus Christ and your heavenly Father and the presence of God comes on the scene so strong that Satan gets confused and God forces him to shut do all his operations against you for 24 hours. Could you use that kind of break, just to catch your breath at least? Psalm 8:2.

9) The Stealth Weapon of the Kingdom: The Anointing! Isa. 10:27.

Many people believe that the Anointing breaks the yoke.

            It doesn't.

In fact, to say that is to do a sad injustice to the Word of God, and to hinder oneself in receiving the fullness of the Power of God in one's life. God's Word does not say that the anointing 'breaks' the yoke. It says that the anointing 'destroys' the yoke. You tell me, which is better? If Satan were strangling you with a yoke of poverty or sickness and disease would you rather have it simply 'broken' off of you and have him fix it with super glue and return again with it in a week or two, or destroyed once and for all--forever?

Now do you understand why some of the things that you sought God about got better, but only for a little while and then came right back? You thought it was God 'testing you'. No, it was Satan lying to you and trying to take advantage of your lack of knowledge of God's Word. Hosea 4:6.

And finally, you yourself are a weapon! Did you know that? The Lord sees you as His Battle Ax, but how do you see yourself? Jer.51:20.

Most Christians don't see themselves as a Battle Axe in the hand of God. They see themselves as a sponge, designed to soak up everything that the devil throws at them! It's time we woke up and got a new image! God's image of us!. I John 4:17!

God Bless you and remember 2 Timothy 2:15.

Jesus is Lord..
