Sad to say
most Christians have no idea.
Do you?
What is a
Born Again, Spirit-Filled Christian?
Are they
poor, weak, down-trodden, sad servants of God?
Or are they
something more?
Could it be
that they are more than what they know?
Could it be
that they are not mere servants of God,
but Sons and
Daughters and Warriors of the Kingdom of God?
If you chose
the later, then you are right…
We have
often sang the song,
“I Am a
Friend of God”
That’s nice.
But, do you know what?
I think I’d
rather be what the Word says I am, in I John 3:1,
a ‘son’…
Why?
Because
being a ‘friend’ of someone is ‘nice’,
but being
their ‘blood’ relative is better...
Why?
Because
being a ‘friend’ lasts only as long as they ‘like
you’.
When they
don’t like you anymore, you’re gone, out of
sight, and out of mind.
Can’t you
think of a few people at one time who were your ‘best
friends’
but now you
don’t hear from them anymore?
You don’t
call them, and they don’t call you.
Maybe you
don’t even like each other anymore.
But guess
what?
You can feel
that way about your sister or your brother,
or even your uncle Fred, but you can’t get rid of them,
because you are tied together by the fact that you are
‘blood relatives’.
Can’t get
rid of them, can you?
Their breath
may stink or they may just get tha heck on your nerves
sometimes,
but like it
or not, they are still ‘family.’
Our Heavenly
Father chose to be more than just a ‘friend’ to us.
He chose to
bind Himself to us throughout the ages by the Blood
of Jesus Christ, His Son.
Why?
So that even
when we ‘got on His nerves’ with our disobedience
periodically,
we would
still be bound to Him, and He to us…
Now, imagine
all the things that you’ve done that you know are
wrong.
All the
things that you’ve done that you know have been
displeasing to the Lord.
You prayed
and asked for His forgiveness, right? And, He forgave
you.
But one day
you thought about it once and you pondered,
“Mannn, if I
was the Lord, I don’t now if I would’ve forgiven me
for all the stuff I did, and the way I’ve acted.”
But He did.
He forgave you anyway, even the stuff you went
back and did ‘twice’!
Why?
Not because
you were His ‘friend’.
He loved you
more than that.
Think about
it.
If your
‘friend’ kept doing stuff on purpose that he knew
hurt your feelings
over and
over and over and over and over and over again,
would he
remain your ‘friend’ for very long?
Most likely
not.
But God
forgave you…
Not because
you were His ‘friend’, but because you are His
‘Child’.
Get it?
And the Lord
Jesus Christ shed His Blood, so that you could have that
privilege
of being
called a ‘son of God’.
No, not
THE Son of God, but “A” son of God. John 1:12.
And guess
what?
It is such
an honor, that it’s the next best thing! (John 1:12, I
John 3:1)
Jesus shed
His Blood for you to be a ‘Son or Daughter of
God’.
You have
been ‘washed from your sins in His Blood’.
Guess what?
If that
doesn’t make you a ‘Blood-Relative’ so to speak, nothing
does!
Go read
about yourself in Malachi 3:16 & 17.
It’ll do you
good to see how far back the Lord and the Father planned
to make you
a ‘Son or Daughter of God.’
If you are
Born-Again, then understand you have been ‘adopted’
by the
Heavenly Father. Romans 8:14-17, Galatians 4:5-7.
It’s
amazing, but that’s just how much God loved us!
Not that we
were worth it in the eyes of the World or Satan,
not that we
deserved it, we didn’t. But that didn’t matter to Him.
It didn’t
matter to Him what Satan, the Angels or anyone else
‘thought’.
We were
worth it to Him… Hebrews 2:16-17.
Why?
Because the
Lord looked at us and didn’t merely see us the way we
were,
but He saw
us the way that He had originally created us to be.
And He and
the Father were both unwilling to concede that original
dream
and purpose
to the devil, even if it cost Him His life, and it did.
But that’s
not where the story ended, because He chose to wash us
in His own Blood
from our
sins, we who were dead in sin, are now
dead to it,
and He rose from the dead to see to it that we can live
consistently and victoriously, in Him.
So, dear
Anointed Child of God,
remember that that is what and who you are…I
John 3:2
Think about
it.
You’ll do
things a million times more for your Son or Daughter,
that you’d never do for a ‘friend’.
Now, tell
me, which do you want to be?
A ‘friend’
has to try to ‘earn’ favor.
A Son or
Daughter already has it,
automatically, from ‘birth’.
Ephesians 1:5, Psalm 5:11 & 12.
A ‘friend’
has to appeal and plead for help in the middle of the
night,
while all a Son or Daughter has to say is,
“Daddy?
Help me…” Jeremiah 33:3, Luke 10:19, Hebrews
13:5 & 6, Psalm 91:14-16
…And a
Father will tear down walls to get to His child…
In the Old
Testament men strove to be called ‘God’s Friend’,
But in the
New Testament, Jesus Christ died to
make you
a Son or
Daughter of God…John 1:12.
Jesus poured
out His very life to make you a “Blood” relative…
Why would
you choose to be anything less, than what He died to
make you?
Know who you
are In Him, and don’t accept anything less than
that.
Because to
accept anything less than that, is to say that Jesus
Christ
died for
nothing and that the New Covenant and all of its
tremendous blessings
is no better
or no different, than the ‘Old’ one.
Jesus didn’t
die to make you ‘weaker’,
but to purge you of your sins,
make you a
new creature in Himself, and to make you stronger
in Him.
II Cor. 5:17, Eph. 6: 9 & 10, Phil. 4:13
You are now
His Temple. I Cor. 3:16-17, I Cor. 6:19, II Cor. 6:16
You are now
a Son or Daughter of God. II Cor. 6:18
You are now
a Warrior of His. Jer. 51:20
Satan
thought if he killed The Son of God,
he could eliminate a gigantic threat
to his
kingdom, but all he did in killing the Lord Jesus,
was to plant
a ‘Seed’ that spawned a whole generation
of ‘sons and daughters’ of God…
And remember,
that God decreed that every ‘Seed’
would produce after its own kind. Gen.
1:11-12.
You, were
given to do signs and wonders in Jesus Name. Isa.
8:18, Heb. 2:11-13.
You are
Satan’s worse nightmare: A man or woman with The
Father,
The Son,
and the Holy Spirit inside…II Cor. 6:16, II Cor.
4:7, Eph. 2:4-10, Eph. 3:16-19
Now, go out
and act like that,
preach like
that,
think like
that,
and live
like that…
In other
words, go out and make your Father, Proud…
And your
‘Big Brother’ too…Hebrews 2:10-13,
and They
will do with you and through you
what They
did with and through the disciples—Mk 16:20…
